One does not have to look far in today's culture to understand that the Judeo Christian worldview that this country was founded upon is under attack. The quote above from the late and great preacher Charles Spurgeon, I believe touches at the heart of one of the greatest cause and effects of this culture war. Simply put we as the Body of Christ have neglected for the most part our God Given responsibilities to train up a child in the way he should go(Proverbs 22:6). With Evangelism, Youth and Culture and EYC Ministries it is our hope and desire with Gods help that we as Christian parents and mentors will not forget our Lords great commission. We must go and make disciples and it starts at home with our own youth. The book of Psalms 127:4-5 states that "our children are like arrows in the hand of a warrior". How can we teach and equip our youth to be like arrows when all we ever feed them are coloring books, juice and crackers on Sunday and sponge bob, video games and i pods Monday through Saturday. We must be willing to feed our children a biblical worldview in order that they are able to give a reason for the hope that is within(1 Pet 3:15). My friends within Islamic countries youth as young as 5,6 and 7 year olds are being taught to strap bombs to their chests to murder the infidel, while we believe we are making a difference by sending our children to baby sitting class on Sunday and Secular Humanism class in the government run schools throughout the week. The Joshua generation which entered the promised land understood the power of evangelizing the youth(Deut 6:5-8), although throughout the book of Judges following the Joshua generation we see the consequences of raising
a generation of unbelief.
